HP ENVY Photo 6200 series
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

My HP ENVY Photo 6200 series suddenly won't print two-sided (after using for over 12 months!?!)

I have 2-sided selected, but it keeps printing the document on 2 separate pages. Help!

@beth734, Welcome to the HP Support Community!

I understand you are not able to print on both sides. To assist you better,

  • Which application are you trying to print from? Are you using the HP Smart app to print?
  • Have you tried printing different types of documents like PDF, Word, or Webpages and check if the issue persists?

Reset the printer

  1. With the printer turned on, disconnect the power cord from the rear of the printer.
  2. Wait at least 60 seconds.
  3. Reconnect the power cord to the rear of the printer.
  4. Turn ON the printer, if it does not automatically turn on.
  5. Wait until the printer is idle and silent before you proceed.

Note: HP recommends connecting the printer directly to a wall outlet rather than a surge protector or a power strip.

Update the printer firmware

Click here to download and install the latest printer firmware from your computer.

Reinstall the HP Smart app from the Microsoft Store and try printing.

  • Which application are you trying to print from? Are you using the HP Smart app to print from your Mac and iPad?
  • Did you reinstall the HP Smart app from the app store and check if that helps?
  • Try printing using the AirPrint driver.
  1. Make sure the printer is turned on, cartridges are installed, and the paper you want to print on is loaded in the correct paper tray.

  2. Open the item you want to print, and then tap the Share icon ( or ).

  3. Tap Print or the Print icon .

  4. Select your printer, and then change print settings such as paper size, number of copies, or page range. Available settings depend on the app you are printing from, the print job type, and your printer.

  5. Tap Print.

Let me know how it goes.

I tried to print from a pdf, word - no success

I have reset the printer - no success.

What else can be done? Help, please!

@beth734

It could be an issue with the printer hardware as the issue persists while printing from different devices such as Mac and iPad.

Please reach out to the HP Technical Support team in your region regarding the service/replacement options for your printer.

You may create a case on the website to obtain a case number if required. Kindly watch this video to know how.

Keep me posted for any other assistance.
