Hi,
I was setting up a new officejet 9013 Ai1 via the "HP smart" app (on WIN10pro/64 ). In the security settings I chose to set a password for the EWS (embedded web server). To avoid problems, I did it by copying the password I chose from notepad and pasting it, so no question of mistyping....
Next I tried to do something that now requires the password, and ..."wrong password". I repeated this several times. Then, as suggested by some HP support video, I tried to use the printer's PIN to login, to no avail.
I looked in the control panel for some "password reset" option, but found none.
Ideas ? SUggestions?
TIA

Hi @zmmi,
Welcome to the HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to assist you.
I see that you are facing an issue with accessing the EWS for your Printer.
Kindly refer to the steps on this link to perform a factory reset.
Please follow the steps below to connect your printer to the network again.
1) Uninstall the HP smart app by click on this link, Restart the computer or mobile device to clear possible error conditions.
2) Enable Wi-Fi setup mode: When you turn on your printer for the first time, it is temporarily placed in Wi-Fi setup mode so that it can be discovered during setup. Use the printer control panel to restore Wi-Fi setup mode, and then set up the printer again. Go to Restore Wi-Fi setup mode on your HP printer for more information.
3) Refer to this link to use the HP smart app on your phone/tablet/PC to add a printer.
Note: Enable Bluetooth for an HP Smart app setup: Enable Bluetooth on your computer or mobile device so that HP Smart can detect the printer during the setup.

Hi @Irwin6,
Thanks a lot for your detailed reply.
The part of factory reset seems clear. However, before carrying on, I wonder if you could clarify why you suggest to setup the printer via wifi, while the printer has wired ethernet.
Thanks,
zmmi

Hi @Irwin6,
Thanks for your instructions.
I have reset to Factory defaults, uninstalled HP Smart and then reinstalled it. Everything is fine, except, that as before, I cannot access the Embedded Web server requiring PIN/password. Using the printer's pin #, as suggested results is an "incorrect PIN message".
I am using the PIN as on the label inside the printer, which is identical to the one I get when I print report.
This is very disappointing !
Thanks for your efforts,
zmmi
