My Mac has been updated to Catalina and now my HP OfficeJet 5742 won't connect to my mac even though it is successfully connect to my network. Help!

What exact feature can't you use?
You cannot print, cannot scan, etc.
Please provide a clear description of the used feature, what steps are taken and what exact error or behavior occurs.

Hi. I cannot use my printer for any function since I updated my Mac OS to Catalina 10.15.1,.
I initially tried switching the printer, macbook and broadband off and on. Still didn't work and I was unable to print.
Then I completely removed the HP printer from my Mac and used HP printer utility to re set it up.
This worked to the point where I go to Printers & Scanners to add it again, however I get the following error message.

I saw this post that may help to resolve your issue.
The solution that works for them was "to go into System Preferences > Network > Location > Edit Locations, and add a new location. This should reset the networking stack and allow you to add the printer with ease."
