Photosmart C7280
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

First it would not "see" the printer at all.  I ran the HP Doctor and the extended search finally located it at the IP.  Then - the software installtion downloaded a driver for Windows 8 and produced pages of errors.

How do I enable the HP Photosmart C7280 in this version of Windows?  Build 16193.rs_prerelease.170507-1300

Thanks

Hi Tom,

Just to make sure I understand the issue....

You are saying you updated your PC to Windows 10 and now you are having problems using your HP Photosmart C7280?  Is that correct?

If that's the case, then I would suggest uninstalling the printer software and then reinstalling it.  To do that:

  1. Follow the instructions in this HP Support document to uninstall the current printer software.
  2. Reboot your PC is you're not prompted to after the uninstall.
  3. Go back to the HP Support site to your product page for the C7280, which is located here.
  4. Click on the blue "Software and Drivers' button.
  5. Click on "Go" under Go directly to the software and driver results.
  6. The page should automatically detect that you have Windows 10, but if it doesn't, select it from the drop down list.
  7. Click on the red "Download" button next to HP Photosmart C7200/C8100 series Full Feature Software and Drivers.
  8. Follow the prompts to install the driver.
  9. Once the install is complete, reboot again (if you aren't already prompted to).
  10. Try to print.
