HP DeskJet 2130 all in one

Every time I turn printer on it prints out test page. Seems wasteful on ink. Is there a way to stop this?

Hi! @Jsauer, Thanks for stopping by HP forums!

I understand when you turn on the printer it keeps printing test page each time.

Don't worry I'd like to help you out.

If you are shutting the printer off at the end of the day, please don't.  Turning the printer on and off will result in it printing off a test page.  If you are concerned about the printer wasting power and this is why you are shutting down, the unit actually has a built in sleep/standby mode that will kick in when the printer is not being used.

Once a print job is sent to the printer it will then wake up and do the task at hand.

Also, please make sure that you have the printer power cable connected directly to a wall outlet and not a power bar/strip.

However, You can uninstall the printer software from your PC and reinstall the printer software.

During installation put a check mark-Only notify when printing and uncheck the other option.

Please find the link to update printer software.

Let me know if this helps!

Have a wonderful day ahead! 🙂
