Can't Print in Color on Envy 5540

I also have the Envy 5540 printer and it will not print in color. My question is why should drivers have to be uninstalled. There is a feature that was there in Windows 7 that HP has removed in Windows 10 and that is being able to chose color or black/white in the paper/quality tab in printer preferences. I just got a new computer with Windows 10 and installed the full feature driver so apparently there is issues with the drivers.

If the drivers are not correctly installed or corrupt during installation, reinstallation of drivers will help.

 

In this scenario of not printing in color, I would suggest you try the Windows built-in drivers. Follow the steps below:

 

•    Go to Control Panel - Devices and Printers - Click on "Add printer" and follow the on-screen instructions.

•    When the page prompts for the drivers, select "Windows update". The driver list will be updated.

•    Click HP, Hewlett Packard, or Hewlett-Packard in the Manufacturer pane, and then click the name of your printer in the Printers pane.

Could you try creating a new user account on your Windows PC and try installing the printer to print?

 

If the issue persists, try connecting the printer using a USB cable and print.
