Can’t print PDF files with error message of

  • printing - can't open "/private/var/spool/cups/tmp/0031f5be6...

It will print other files, excel and word and test page. I tried solutions in this forum but they do not work. Possible solution?: use a tool that will delete all print driver software and reinstall?

I have gone through your Post and would like to help

May I know which App are you using to print PDF files?

Please ensure your MAC and Printer has all the latest updates

Printer Firmware: https://support.hp.com/in-en/document/c02919168

Mac update: https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT2015

Have you tried reinstalling the App?

Keep me posted

I am using the HP 1112 print driver to print using Acrobat Reader DC (latest download) to open the PDF file. The HP driver was newly installed after using Easy Start to delete all HP print software. All firmware is up to date. I was able to print the file using acrobat reader DC  and the printer on an iMac (OS 10.11.6 El Capitan). My problem is with my MacAir (OS 10.14.6 Mojave). Thus it may be an Acrobat issue. I have posted to their community but have not heard anything yet. It seems there is some remnant printing files generating the error.

It does seems to be an issue with Acrobat. Keep us posted if you get any updates
