Can't print

cp1025nw color
macOS 10.14 Mojave

Can't print since going to macOS Mojave 10.14.5. Keep getting "Stopped - ‘Filter’ failed, 1 page".

Welcome to the HP Support Community!

  • Which application are you using to print and what type of document is it?
  • Have you tried printing different types of documents like PDF, Emails or files from a browser to check if you get the same error?
  • For now, let us try these steps:

Update the printer firmware

Update the software on mac

If the above steps do not help, re-install the printer using AirPrint driver

1.) Click the Apple menu, click System Preferences, and then click Print & Scan or Printers & Scanners.

2.) Check if your printer name displays in the Printers list, If your printer is listed, click the printer name, click the minus sign to delete the printer.

3.) If you see multiple printer queues for the same printer, remove all extra printers by selecting them one at a time, and then clicking the minus button  at the bottom of the list.

4.) Click the plus sign , click Add Printer or Scanner, click the printer name.

5.) Click the Use or Print Using menu, select AirPrint in the pop-up menu. Then click Add.

6.) Try to print.


If you still have issues, verify and repair disk permissions.

On the Apple menu bar, click Go, applications, utilities, disk utility, click on Mac hard drive on the left side, click on verify disk permissions, when that is finished click repair disk permissions.

(when it is finished will show disk repair completed)
