Cannot install this new printer. When downloading sofware it prompts for the disc but there was no disc in the box. Incredable frustrating and a compelte waste of money. I have wasted 3 hour sof my time today trying to get it to work and the online assistant is just rubbish

Welcome to the HP Support Community!

  • The Windows Vista operating system installed, is it 32 bit or 64 bit?
  • The software discs will not be sent with the new printers as the software is available online in HP support site.

Connecting the printer to a wireless network and installing HP drivers may resolve this issue. Let us try these steps:

Step 1: Connect printer to the wireless network

  1. From the home screen on the printer control panel, touch the Wireless icon .

  2. Touch the Setup icon .

  3. Touch Wireless Setup Wizard.

    Wireless Settings display

  4. Touch the name of your network in the list of available networks, and then touch OK.

    Example of network names

  5. If the list does not contain your network name, touch Enter New Network Name, and then follow the on-screen instructions to enter your network name.

  6. If prompted, type the WEP or WPA key (network password), and then touch Done.

    A summary screen displays.

  7. Touch OK to return to the home screen.

  8. Note: Make sure the printer and the computer are connected to the same wireless network.

Step 2: Install HP Full-featured driver

Click here to download the HP Full-featured driver.

Once downloaded, make sure to run the file to start the installation and follow the on-screen instructions.

Let me know how this goes.
