color laser jet pro m252dw
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Hi

I have purchased this item just recently and when trying to view my document before printing i cannot find the button for it. My old printer had a print preview where it would show the format, e.g. size borders print page etc

does anybody know how to get PRINT PREVIEW for this printer

seems like all printers should really have this.

Thank you.

Edit* i am using the color laser jet pro m252dw  PCL6 driver

Hello, @Eldunario

I am afraid that the print preview option that you are looking for is unavailable 😞

But, you can definitely change the margin on the Powerpoint application. Please check it here: Change the page layout

Hello, @Eldunario - Hope you are well!

Thanks for stopping by the HP Support Forums! I will do my best to assist you with this issue 🙂

I understand you want to get a print preview before your print. Print preview is not an option within the printer drivers anymore. Print preview now is embedded with the applications that you are using to print.

Are you trying to print something online or the document / pictures saved on the PC? Please let me know so that I can guide you accordingly.

Alternatively, the easiest way to get a preview of the document that you print online is to install and use “Google Chrome” browser. Chrome browser has a default print preview option and hence you will be able to see the preview before you print. You can install the chrome from here: http://hp.care/2ev2mXH

Once you install chrome, open the page that you want to print in chrome and click on the 3 horizontal dots at the top right corner of the screen to get the print option.

Similarly, if you are trying to print a document or PDF, use the Microsoft Word or Adobe reader respectively. Both these applications provide you the print preview option before you print.

If you need further assistance, let me know what you are trying to print.

Thanks, I'll watch for your reply!

Cheers 🙂

Hi! thanks for the quick reply

the problem is im trying to use powerpoint and the settings im trying to use with my printer it wouldn't look the same

im using it for lecture slides to get 4 slides on each page, borderless, landscape,

the specific part im trying to do is get it to print at 120% slide size to maximise the amount of paper used and font size

(don't want to increase the fonts all by myself it would take too long)

thanks in advance!

Hello, @Eldunario

I did check the Powerpoint application myself and there is a print preview option included within the program.

Go to File on the top-left and then select the print option. This will give you a print preview screen. Check the print preview screen of the Powerpoint below:

Also, check under Full page slides - There are options to change the "Scale to fit" which will help you fill the entire page while printing.

Please let me know if this resolves the issue, or if you require further assistance!

Good luck 🙂

Hi again, @dvortex

The problem with this is that it doesn't actually show you the preview of what has been selected in the printer properties section

I could choose 4 slides per page (with the printer which is much better than the powerpoint view) and it would still show as 1 slide per page. I want to see all 4 slides on the page before printing it

It also doesn't tell you the number of pages being used like it used to.

Thanks again

oh and the scale to fit thing does improve the size a tenny bit which is nice

another question, in word you can choose the margin sizes of the document. is there anything similar to this in powerpoint?
