Deskjet 1220C
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

This has been dealt with before at https://h30434.www3.hp.com/t5/Printer-Software-and-Drivers/Driver-for-Deskjet-1220C-for-Windows-10-6... but that post is now dead.

The issue is that the printer is no longer supported by either HP or Microsoft but there was a Windows 10 driver in earlier versions oif Windows 10. I have spent hours searching for this but have failed to find it. It is not available on the HP support site, and is not available from the Microsoft updates for Windows 10. I have an ancient Windows 7 machine which works with this printer, but the Windows 7 driver doesn't work with Windows 10.

Can anyone send me a copy of the driver for Windows 10?.

Hi,

Download and manually install the driver from the Microsoft Update Catalog:

Shlomi,  That worked nicely thank you very very much that has really helped me a lot.

For anyone interested I have WIndows 10.0.18363 running on VMWare hosted under Ubuntu 18. The downloaded version of windows did not contain the printer driver I needed, but it was available from an an old set of Microsoft updates.

I am having problems with this solution.  The .cab is downloaded.  But when I try to install using "Have Disk..." select prnhp001 I get the message "Printer driver was not installed.  The system cannot find the file specified.

Great! Thanks for your solution! It helped me running my Deskjet 9300 as the Deskjet 1220C is the alternate driver for it.

Thanks for your help. The solution worked. The link went straight to the files I needed. The link to the "How To's" made the download easy to install. Thank-you very much. 😁
