HP Envy 13
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Hi, My newly purchased HP Envy 13 Windows 10 is giving "Incompatible Ink Cartridge" when printing to HP Envy 4500. However, this is no issue printing from an old Toshiba notebook running Windows7. Do you think it is a printer driver issue? Thanks.

This is a great location to get assistance! I read your post and see that you are getting “incompatible ink cartridge” error. I would like to help you resolve this issue.

Click here and update the latest printer driver and the firmware.

Then Perform hard reset on the printer.

  • Remove the power cable from the printer when it is turned on.
  • Press and hold the power button for 30secs.
  • Connect the power cable to the printer and directly to the wall outlet.
  • Turn on the printer.

Click here and follow the document for more steps.

Let me know if that works.

Cheers.

I read "https://h30434.www3.hp.com/t5/Inkjet-Printing/No-toner-ink-Attention-Required/td-p/5139787/page/2" and

changed the printer port from the 'WSD' port that is set up when the printer installs to a standard TCP/IP port with the IP of the printer as the target. It works and I will keep it that way. Thanks.
