I am not able to get the Fax software working properly for my 3830 printer. I have gone through the setup procedure, performed a test which it passed, however; when attempting to send a fax either from the control panel on the printer or from the desktop it doesn't respond.

@Bpfa, Welcome to the HP Support Community!
To know how to use the Fax feature on the printer, refer to this document. If the fax test pass, it means the fax is setup correctly on the printer.
If the feature does not work, let us try these steps:
Reset the printer
- With the printer turned on, disconnect the power cord from the rear of the printer.
- Wait at least 60 seconds.
- Reconnect the power cord to the rear of the printer.
- Turn ON the printer, if it does not automatically turn on.
- Wait until the printer is idle and silent before you proceed.
Note: HP recommends connecting the printer directly to a wall outlet rather than a surge protector or a power strip.
Update the printer firmware
Click here to know different methods of updating printer firmware.
Send a test fax to HP. Click here to know how.
You will also receive a fax from HP as confirmation by which you may check if you are able to receive faxes.
Let me know how this goes.
