HP Office Jet Pro 8710

Hi, My HP Officejet pro 8710 is asking for admin password when i treid connecting it to the wifi network. Tried partial reset and full reset but it didnt work. Also tried different forums but didnt get an exact answer.

The ink levels are low so when i did reset i could not setup the wifi as it is showing catridges depleted error on display. Couldnt get rid(how to enter setup?) of it so i connected the USB cable and tried connecting to Wifi but it is asking for admin password.

Could someone help me overcome this?

Hi,

Apologies for jumping in @The_Fossette!

@AK_B- could you please try the following and let us know if that may help?

  1. Swipe your finger from top to bottom of your printer screen to reveal its dashboard.
  2. Tap the Gear icon to access its Setup menu.
  3. Tap Printer Maintenance.
  4. Tap Restore.
  5. Select Restore Factory Defaults and confirm any prompt, the printer then starts.

Now reconnect the printer to your network by following the Wireless Setup Wizard and check for any change.

Please let us know how it goes,

Shlomi

Hi.. I am not able to swipe down as i get the catridge depleted error message on screen. Not sure how to get rid of it. Is there an option to bypass that error message and go back to normal screen?

Hi,

You should repalce any missing cartridges to get the printer back into standard mode, then you may access the setup menu.

The printer is not designed to work with missing or empty print cartridges and cannot be used for any purpose such as printing or scanning, empty cartridges must be replaced to resume printing:
