HP DeskJet ink advantage 3835

HI 

 

I am using HP printer Deskjet ink advantage 3835 printer. however recently i have been facing issues. it all started when i i was printing a word document. i clicked on file> print>printer properties, to select the colour option since i wanted to print only black , but the colour select option was not available in wifi mode. When i connected the printer via USB the same was available, so i thought may be the software was corrupt. hence i uninstalled and reinstalled the same but the issue did not resolve. so i repeated the uninstall and since then i am getting the below message when installation is in process . Please help me in fixing the issue. Also why am i not get colour select option in wifi mode.HP printer error.PNG

Kindly advise at the earliest.

Welcome to HP Support community.

 

Perform root level uninstallation to remove all the printer related software's.

  • In Windows, search for and open Programs and Features.
  • Select your HP printer.
  • Select Uninstall.
  • In Windows, search for and open Devices and Printers.
  • In the Devices and Printers window look for your HP Printer. If you see it listed, right-click on it and choose "Delete" or "Remove Device.”
  • Open up the run command with the "Windows Key + R" key combo.
  • Type printui.exe /s and click OK.
  • Click on Drivers tab.
  • Look for HP Printer driver. If you see it click on it and click Remove at the bottom.
  • Select OK.
  • Remove all instances of the same.
  • Select Apply and OK on the Print Server Properties windows.
  • Close Devices and Printers. 
  • Restart the PC again.

Download and install printer full feature driver

Click here to download the driver.

 

Update the printer firmware

Follow the steps mentioned in this HP document to update firmware:- Click here

 

Once you install the printer, change the bellow settings to print in color.

  1. Open Devices and Printers by clicking the Start button , and then, on the Start menu, clicking Devices and Printers.
  2. Right-click the printer that you want to use, and then click Printing preferences.
  3. Make your choices, and then click OK.
  4. Under option Print color select color , then the OK button.

Hi Sandy,

Thanks for your prompt reply. i followed the steps but the Full feature driver is of HP Envy 5540.  My Printer is HP DeskJet Ink advantage 3835.

Hi Thanks installation was successful.. however as mentioned earlier i cant find colour option when i am printing in wifi mode. Colour option shows only when i am connected via USB. Please refer to the attached screenshot:

This might require remote access of the computer to fix the issue.

I request you to talk to HP support.

They might have multiple options to help you with this.

  1. Click on this link - https://support.hp.com/us-en/contact-hp?openCLC=true
  2. Select the country.
  3. Enter the serial of your device.
  4. Select the country from the drop-down.
  5. Click on "Show Options".

Fill the web-form. A case number and phone number will now populate for you.
