Officejet Pro 8035
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

This printer is Ethernet networked to print from 1 of 4 Windows 10 PC's.  All PC's are running the latest Win 10 updates.  3 of the 4 PC's can print successfully but the 4th won't print to the HP printer only.  A canon printer, on the same network prints successfully from all 4 printers.

I have uninstalled and reinstalled the printer and SMART software multiple times.  I have run both the Windows and HP troubleshooters and can watch the print cycle but nothing ever prints.  I have replaced the Ethernet cables.  I have reconfigured the printer to print wirelessly and with a USB cable all to no avail.  I have an older HP 3833 printer that when added to the network prints from the same 3 PC's only, just like the 8035.

So. there is something about this 1 (Windows 10, Ryzen 7 high end PC) in combination with any HP printer (but not Canon) that is problematic.  IMPORTANT:  This printer did work initially with all PC's on the network.  I can only surmise that some combination of Windows 10 updates is to blame but after more than 5 days of trying I'm reaching out for help.

This is in response to your private message.

Follow the steps below-

1.  Select “Start” and type “printers” in the search box.

2.  Choose “Printers & scanners“.

3.   elect “Add a printer or scanner“.

4.  Wait for the “The printer that I want isn’t listed” option to appear, then select it.

5.   Select “Add a printer using a TCP/IP address or hostname” , then select “Next“.

6.   select “TCP/IP Device” in the “Device type” list.

7.  Type the hostname or the IP address of the printer. Select “Next“. To find the IP address of the printer, touch the Wi-Fi icon on the printer's control panel.

8.  Windows should find the printer if the printer is on and configured correctly. You may have to specify more information. If prompted, Select the type of network adapter installed in the printer in the “Device Type” drop-down list. You can also click “Custom” to specify custom settings for the network printer. Select “Next“.

Try printing.

Hope this helps! Keep me posted.

I followed the steps as outlined but to no avail.  The printer installed as HP Officejet Pro 8030 series PCL-3, Default, 1 document in que, (sent a 1 word text document) which failed to print.

My Canon printer will print on the same network.

Assign manual IP to the printer

The steps on how to set a manual IP address can be found here.

For the DNS servers please use 8.8.8.8 for the Manual Preferred DNS Server and 8.8.4.4 for the Alternate DNS server. These are Google’s public DNS servers

If the issue persists, I recommend you delete the driver and root level and retry, follow the steps below:

1) In Windows, search for and open Programs and features

2) Select your HP Printer

3) Select Uninstall

4) In Windows, search for and open Devices and printers

5) In the Devices and Printers windows look for your HP printer. If you see it listed right-click on it and choose ‘Delete’ or ‘Remove Device’

6) Open up the run command with the “Windows key + R” key combo.

7) Type printui.exe /s and click Ok. (Note: there is a space in between “printui.exe”

8). Click on the “Drivers” tab

9) Look for the HP Printer driver. If you see it Click on it and click Remove at the bottom

10) Select Ok

11) Select Apply and Ok on the Print Server Properties windows

12) Close Devices and Printers.

Use this link to download and install the new driver. Configure the printer.

Add a TCP/IP port.

  1. Print a Network Configuration Report from the Printer Settings or Wireless menu.
  2. Right-click your printer, select Printer Properties, click the Ports tab, and then click Add Port.
  3. Select Standard TCP/IP Port, and then click New Port.
  4. Follow the instructions to add a new port using the information listed on the Network Configuration Report.
  5. Try printing.

Hope this helps! Keep me posted.
