I try it this way because the HP help desk via the phone could not help me.

A week ago I wanted to print but it didn't work. I then added the printer again via the HP Smart app but it says that the driver is not installed. With printers and scanners in Windows the printer is on. It says here that the driver for the printer is missing. Previously it was always fine with the HP Smart app but now no longer.

Welcome to HP support community.

Perform root level uninstallation to remove all the printer related software's.

  • In Windows, search for and open Programs and Features.
  • Select your HP printer.
  • Select Uninstall.
  • In Windows, search for and open Devices and Printers.
  • In the Devices and Printers window look for your HP Printer. If you see it listed, right-click on it and choose "Delete" or "Remove Device.”
  • Open up the run command with the "Windows Key + R" key combo.
  • Type printui.exe /s and click OK.
  • Click on Drivers tab.
  • Look for HP Printer driver. If you see it click on it and click Remove at the bottom.
  • Select OK.
  • Remove all instances of the same.
  • Select Apply and OK on the Print Server Properties windows.
  • Close Devices and Printers.
  • Restart the PC again.

Download and install printer full feature driver

I hope that helps.

The standard software does not work in Windows 10. That is why I started using HP Smart, which now also no longer worked. I reinstalled my laptop yesterday, this week I try to see if it works now.

Yes, try the software and check if that works and let me know how it goes.

Reinstalling Windows does not work. I would like to use the HP Smart app because it is easier to use. Installing the standard software doesn't work either, because the software finds the printer, but if it wants to add it, it won't work. The HP Smart app always worked great but after the Windows 1909 update I suddenly couldn't print anymore. Then I re-installed the printer and the driver was no longer installed. Not even if you add the printer directly through windows.

I should have noted on the above post that I'm on windows 10with an HP Pavilion x360 trying to print over wifi.  I have another computer on the same network (device sharing is on in both computers) and it prints fine.

Thx.

I succeeded in connecting the printer via USB to my laptop. Then he will install the driver. The only thing you have to do is change the port to network. This is of course very cumbersome and not very handy to do. Especially not for people with a desktop etc.
