I am the only user of the printer, so I don't need it to be wireless

Hi,
Simply connect an eternet cable fro the printer to the router, an ethernet connection disables the wireless connection by default..
Once you connect the cable reboot your PC and try printing and scanning, if that soesn't work reinstall the software on your PC to reconfigure it accord the wired connection.
