It doesn't have to be this complicated. I never change the settings on my printer. For envelopes I simply load them correctly into the paper try (flap faxing up and on the left) and print. The printer asks for a new setting but I ignore it since I will be using regular paper right after. I've printed post cards on both sides (content and address) also without changing the printer setup. As long as your Word has the correct media dimentions that's all you need.

I have none  Just will not print the envelope

I do not know how to set my HP Office jet Pro 8710 to print envelopes, I have the envelopes loaded but there must me a setting I need to do.  I keep getting message incorrect paper size.

I ignore those error messages. As long as I use the Word settings for Mailings/Envelopes (of the right size) and put the envelopes in the tray they print fine. When I'm done I put my letter size paper back in the tray. The printer never realizes that anything changed.
