How to reset the password on a printer (HP Photosmart 6510 B211a)

HP Recommended
HP Photosmart 6510 B211a
macOS 10.14 Mojave

I like to make some network changes to my printer at home and seem to have forgotten the password.

searching this forum I noticed this questioned to have been asked many many times, but (for the ones I checked) they all had a private message answer.

So can anyone help me in resetting my printer admin password so I can make the changes I'd like?

thanks for your support..

Peter

A warm welcome to HP forums! This is a great place to get support, find answers and tips to your technical queries.

Restoring the printer to Factory defaults settings should clear any administrator passwords, let's try these steps:

1.) On the printer control panel display, touch Setup.

2.) Select Tools and then select Restore Factory Defaults.

3.) Power off and power on the printer.

4.) On the printer control panel display, touch Setup.

5.) Select Wireless and then select Wireless setup Wizard.

Follow the onscreen instructions to connect the printer to your home WiFi.

Let me know how it goes!
