Hi everyone,

I'm trying to unistall printer's driver from my pc (OS Windows 10 Home), but, during the uninstallation process, a message that appears on the screen blocks the process. It says, "The request to DriverPackageUninstall has given the error 5 for the package. A caller of DriverPackageInstall has to be member of Administrators group to install a driver package", although the account I'm connected to is an administrator of the PC.

I attach to this message the screenshot of the screen with the message that appears. It is written in italian.

Can anyone help me?

Thank youCattura.PNG

Hi @ntnpar20

Welcome to the HP Support Community. I'd be happy to assist you with the  "Cannot uninstall printer driver" issue.

Could you translate the error in English?

Meanwhile, try the steps below to uninstall the drivers-

uninstall the printer software from the root level on your PC and install the full feature printer software.

--->In Windows, search for and open Programs and Features.
--->Select your HP printer.
--->Select Uninstall.
--->In Windows, search for and open Devices and Printers.
--->In the Devices and Printers window look for your HP Printer. If you see it listed, right-click on it and choose "Delete" or "Remove Device.”
--->Open up the run command with the "Windows Key + R" key combo.
--->Type printui.exe /s and click OK.
--->Click on the Drivers tab.
--->Look for HP Printer driver. If you see it click on it and click remove at the bottom.
--->Select OK.
--->Select Apply and OK on the Print Server Properties windows.
--->Close Devices and Printers.

Hope this helps! Keep me posted.
