Dear HP community,

I want to use HTTPS on my printer. I see the instructions provided by HP to generate a CSR from the printer cert options, then I need to do a purchase to sign it? Is it possible to set this up for free? I am just using this at home. I have windows server

Thanks!

I created a new self-signed certificate on the printer then exported it and installed it to my local pc trusted root cert authorities. But I still get the red cert warning in the printer url.

Was this correct??

I also tried creating the CSR option in the printer, then gonig to https://servername/certsrv -> request a certificate -> advanced certificate request ->

ubmit a certificate request by using a base-64-encoded CMC or PKCS #10 file, or submit a renewal request by using a base-64-encoded PKCS #7 file.

Under the field:

Base-64-encoded
certificate request
(CMC or
PKCS #10 or
PKCS #7):

I entered in the text from the CSR I generated from the printer.

Then I downloaded it in base-64 encoded and installed it onto the printer.

Printer url still gets error:

NET::ERR_CERT_COMMON_NAME_INVALID

Common name seems to be correct? Does the signed certificate need to be SHA1? Mine keeps generating as sha256

Please help!
