@printer_neverwo, Welcome to HP Support Community!

I have brought your issue to the attention of an appropriate team within HP. They will likely request information from you in order to look up your case details or product serial number. Please look for a private message from an identified HP contact. Additionally, keep in mind not to publicly post personal information (serial numbers and case details).

If you are unfamiliar with how the Forum's private message capability works, you can learn about that here.

Thank you for visiting the HP Support Community.

Hi, I have tried everything you suggested here. But I still have the same issue.
I will try to send some details, hopping you can help us because it is frustrating to buy such nice printer and not being able to really use it.

I'm using MacOS Mojave, 10.14.6 on an iMac Retina 5K, 27-inch, 2017 - (can't update to 10.15 right now)

My printer is CP1025 (not nw)

I reseted the printing system and installed the Software I found here:

https://support.hp.com/us-en/drivers/selfservice/hp-laserjet-pro-cp1025-color-printer-series/4052955...

It took a while, but installed successfully.
I added the printer again, selecting HP LaserJet CP 1025, 2.0.20120620

It appears as "Idle"
I tried to print a PDF while following the progress in the printer queue window.

I'm adding a screenrecording so you can see the progress.

It ends displaying Stopped - Sending data to printer.

Than if I try to restart the job some times it shows the error: Stopper - 'Filter' failed

It shows Printing - Sending data to printer, 1 page.
Than after a few seconds,

Just to let you know, the HP Easy Start identified my printer,  but it wasn't even able to find the appropriate software for the CP2015.

I have this same problem. I noticed that one person solved the problem by using a different USB cord.  Because it's no longer possible to plug a USB cord directly into the new Mac computers, is it possible that the cable adapter could be causing an issue? The idea that there is a problem with a "filter" makes me think the adapter might be an issue. Is that valid?  However, I am able to print a configuration page which seems strange. If I can print a configuration page from the HP Printer utility page using my laptop, shouldn't I be able to print from all software programs? To me, if I can print a configuration page, that means my laptop is 'talking' to the printer. No?

@seeking_answer, Welcome to the HP Support Community!

To assist you better, what model printer are you using?

Which version of OS is installed on the computer?

Which application are you trying to print from?

Have you tried printing different types of documents like PDF, Word or Webpages and check if the issue persists?

Keep me posted for further assistance.

UPDATE: I found a phone number to HP support ( 1800 334 5144). They confirmed that my printer LaserJet CP1025nw color is now obsolete which means HP will not be updating printer drivers.  Also, I was hoping to bypass the need for printer drivers by accessing the Airprint feature however, this printer is not set up to be WIFI direct compatible.  So, their solution is to buy a new printer.

I'm still experiencing this problem.  The answers to your questions are below.  However, I was wondering if you considered my earlier question which was, why am I able to print a configuration page but not a document from my printer? This seems significant to me - the printer and the laptop seem to be 'communicating' in that application.

Printer model:  LaserJet CP1025nw color

OS version:  macOSMojave version 10.14.6

Applications trying to print from:
Microsoft Word for Mac version 16.32
Mac Mail version 12.4
Preview version 10.1

Google Chrom  Version 78.0.3904.108

Since you are able to print the configuration page, it means the printer is working and on same Network but due to drivers issue you are unable to print regular documents

- Do you have any Anti-virus software installed on your MAC? If you do, please deactivate it for now.

-Note:- This printer supports only 2.4GHz network. Do not connect it to 5 GHz Network incase your Router supports both 2.4 and 5 GHz

- If you have a Dual-band router and both 2.4GHz and 5GHz networks share the same name/SSID, then the printer will not be able to connect to the network. In this case, contact your Internet service provider to assign different names to both the networks.

Please check with your Internet service provider if your router is able to forward 'Bonjour packets'. This is very important

Bonjour locates devices such as printers, other computers, and the services that those devices offer on a local network using multicast Domain Name System (mDNS) service records. The software comes built-in with Apple's macOS and iOS operating systems.

Also perform a ping test using the Mac Network Utility and let me know the results. Use the printer IP address to perform a ping test, the printer IP can be located by touching the wireless icon on the printer display or by printing a Network Configuration Page

Next ensure your Mac and Printer have the latest updates

Printer Firmware: https://support.hp.com/in-en/document/c02919168

Mac update: https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT2015

After checking all those details and if the Ping Test is successful, Remove and Re-add the printer using Airprint. AirPrint is an Apple technology that helps you create full-quality printed output without the need to download or install drivers.

1.) Click the Apple menu, click System Preferences, and then click Print & Scan or Printers & Scanners.
2.) Check if your printer name displays in the Printers list, If your printer is listed, click the printer name, click the minus sign to delete the printer.

3.) If you see multiple printer queues for the same printer, remove all extra printers by selecting them one at a time, and then clicking the minus button  at the bottom of the list.

4.) Click the plus sign , click Add Printer or Scanner, click the printer name.

5.) Click the Use or Print Using menu, select AirPrint or Secure AirPrint in the pop-up menu. Then click Add.

Select AirPrint from the Use menu

6.) Try to Scan

Let me know how it goes😊
