OfficeJet Pro 8715
Microsoft Windows 7 (64-bit)

The original software is missing. After a crash and rebuilding my Win 7 system I find the only software HP will download is indicated as 8710. It doesn't look or feel anything like the original 8715 software I had installed when new. It also hangs/locks up  when I do a scan using the 8710 software. What gives?

Call off the help.

I found my original software and installed it. All is right with the world. Another issue was with the ULead photo editing software. It made corrupted .UFO files and was linked to improper installation of the printer software. Deleted all .UFO folders in the registry followed by command prompt deletion of the corrupted files and all works properly now.
