I have 17 duplicate scan to computer services running on my laptop. Unreal! They are actually starting up, 2-5 run in system tray. I have uninstalled all printers, network or other. Running win 10 on hp notebook 15. I can disable each of the running 'scan to computer' processes, but I see that to be ad nauseam as I have 2 wireless officejet pro 8600 plus printers here. I only connect this device to one, on a seperate network (completely different DHCP). Is there any way to safely remove these duplicate, always running, processes?

@Predder2

Welcome to the HP Forums 🙂

I would like to take a moment and thank you for using this forum, it is a great place to find answers.

As I understand there are multiple scan to computer services running, don't worry, just follow the below steps to fix the issue:

If these background programs are working are a part of the system tray, I recommend you utilize the system configuration program to disable the unwanted apps:
Hold down the Windows key and press R.

  • In to the Run box type MSConfig and hit enter.
  • In the System Configuration window, click the Startup and then the services tab,
  • remove the tick next to each startup item apart from your security software and Audio software and then click Apply to make the change.
  • Restart the notebook for this change to take effect.

If you find a function you require is now unavailable, just re-enable it in System Configuration and restart the notebook again.

If issue persists, please delete the printer driver and then install a fresh copy of the full feature software from HP: Click here

Keep me posted,
