Typically when a print job gets stuck in the queue when printing, doing a reset print system and adding the printer again will resolve it.

The instructions are in this Apple document.  Just scroll down to the Reset Print System section.

My appologies.  I thought you had gotten passed that error and the job was simply stuck in the queue now.

What model of printer do you have?  I do not see it referenced in teh intitail post.

The simplest way to resolve this is to use AirPrint (Not Secure AirPrint) as your print driver.

1.Open System Preferences and Printers & Scanners

2.Delete your existing print queue for the 3830 by highlighting the printer and selecting the "-" button

3.Create a new print queue by selecting the "+" and then selecting the 3830 in the browse window.

4.Next to the field labelled "Use:" select AirPrint (note: do not select Secure AirPrint)

5.Select Add.

Try printing again.

If you need to use the HP Driver or Secure AirPrint, we will need to force the printer to generate a new certificate and have the OS recognize  the new certificate for the printer.  It would appear that for some reason either the CUPS certifcate in the macOS or the certificate on the printer required for a secure connection has expired.

The following steps should provide a solution for that scenario:

1. Delete the printer queue in the Printers & Scanners System Preferences Pane

1.a. I would typically do a Reset Print System as well just cover all bases

2. Restore Factory Defaults on the printer.  This can be done from the front control panel. Setup Menu-->Tools-->Restore Factory Defaults.

3. Set the correct date, time and time zone on the printer.

4. Re-add the printer to your wireless network using one of the methods in this document.

5. Make any and all changes you typically do with IP Address, Host Name or other network settings in the EWS.

6. Open System Preferences and Printers and Scanners

7. Create a new print queue by selecting the "+" and selecting the 3830.

8. Select the driver you would like to use in the "Use:" drop down.

9. Click Add

Try and print again

The printer has generated an expired server certificate. To resolve this issue please follow the directions outlined in the document "'Encryption Credentials Expired' Error Displays".
