HP OfficeJet Pro 6830 e-all-in-one
Microsoft Windows 7 (64-bit)

I received an printhead error, so I cleaned the printhead and it didn't work. Purchase a new printhead and purchase new printer ink from Walmart and received another  error " Cartilage problem appear to be damaged". This is new ink and I have reset the printer, checked on HP website for new drivers and firmware and it states its up to date and no need for new fireware. I have even downloaded the HP smart on my pc so I can try again on the firmware, but it still says I don't need it.  Need help?

Hi @shebly

Welcome to the HP Support Community. I'd be happy to assist you. Let us try these steps to resolve this issue:

Reset the printer

  1. With the printer turned on, disconnect the power cord from the rear of the printer.
  2. Wait at least 60 seconds.
  3. Reconnect the power cord to the rear of the printer.
  4. Turn ON the printer, if it does not automatically turn on.
  5. Wait until the printer is idle and silent before you proceed.

Note: HP recommends connecting the printer directly to a wall outlet rather than a surge protector or a power strip.

Also, perform step 3 mentioned in this document.

Hope this helps! Keep me posted.

Thank you for helping me Kumar! I tried you solution and re plugged my printer to the wall outlet and followed the reset instructions and looked at the purchase ink cartilage. Of course, I followed the instructions on the link you give me and I received the same error.  The reason I'm getting this error now is because I received the first error, which is to look at my Printhead or replace it. I replace the printhead and now I'm getting the print cartilage error. The printhead works or it would not say the printhead error, but after purchasing brand new HP ink and still the same issue even after checking updates and the firmware were update from what printer states in the printer maintenance  section. There is nothing else that's working with this machine.

Appreciate you trying the steps. I'd suggest you Contact HP in your region regarding the service options for your printer.

Thanks!
