My HP 4630 will not sleep. I followed the suggestion of unplugging the power cord from the unit(for at least 10 sec.) while it was on and dormant. The suggestion said after plugging back in power cord turn on printer. When I plug it back in it came back on instantly on its own I did not have to touch the power button and this process did nothing to solve the no sleep issue. Anyone else have something else I might try????

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

 

The Printer enters sleep mode after 5 minutes of inactivity.

 

To change the time to Sleep mode 1. From the Home screen on the printer display, select Preferences. 2. Select Sleep, and then select the desired option.

I have changed the time setting to allow sleep mode numerous times from 5 to 10 to 15 minutes it does not enter sleep mode regardless of setting I also with the printer turned on disconnected the power cord from the back of the unit and from the wall waited five minutes then pushed and held the power button for 30 sec. to alleviate any power still in the unit. Then I plugged power cord back into unit and other end of cord into wall and without even pressing the on button the unit came back on by itself and still does not enter sleep mode regardless of time selection

I installed the firmware update for my OS and it didn't change anything. I'm going to delete everything that has to do with the printer I reinstall it with the latest firmware. It is the only option I have left I just hope it works.
