No devices have been found when trying to download software

Product Name: Envy 4500
Operating System: macOS 10.12 Sierra

Printing connections stopped a few months ago because of unknown reasons. i reset the wireless connection on printer and reset to default on computer. Cannot add printer from MacAir and says no devices have been found when trying to download the software.

Thanks for taking an interest in the HP Support Forums After reading your post I see that you require assistance with setting up the printer on the wireless network. I will be a delight to assist you here.

For better clarity and to assist you better I would require more information regarding this:

  • Did you reset mac printing system and add the printer again?

For now please try these steps:

Then add the printer by following these steps:

1.)Click the Apple menu icon, and then click System Preferences.

2.) Click Printers and Scanners, Print and Scan, or Print and Fax.

3.) In the Printers list, click your HP printer, and then click the Minus button to delete it.

4.) Click the Add button.

 5.) Find, and then select the name of your printer from the Printer list, and then click Add to add your printer. Do not select an HP Fax driver.

6.) Click the Use or Print Using box, and then select the name of your printer.

7.) Avoid the AirPrint driver. Once the correct HP driver is chosen, select Add to add the printer to the list.

8.) Try to print.

This should fix the issue for you.

I have deleted the printer and when tried to add again nothing pops up. Ive heard i need to reset the router?

Please follow these steps:

 

 Please follow all the prescribed steps from this printer offline linkhttp://hp.care/2wdv8Fo  to try and resolve it.

This link: http://hp.care/2xFIOGc   will also be helpful when the printer is not found on the network.

One of these steps should have resolved the issue for you. 

Resetting the router might help. Please try to connect the printer to a different device like a Windows computer if possible and check if the printer works.
