Photosmart 6510

Hi,

I try to solve problem with my photosmart 6510 because it is not printing black. Followed all steps. I end up with message that black color fully misses - and that the cause is probably defective cartridge or defective printer head (don't know right word).

I don't want to buy a new cartridge and test to find out the printer is the problem leaving me with 2 brand new but opened cartridged and still no printing. So how to find out?

I followed the next steps of issue resolution j consisting of checking wether is guarantee product - but then the system does not recognize the product code of the back of my printer (serial CN25J553ZY / productcode CQ761 - 64001) so I cant check / continue in the process.

So 2 questions -

how to check my guarantee status (why does not recognize CQ761)?

but more importantly: how to find out whether my problem is caused by the cartridge or the printer?

Regards Lisette

As I understand you are having issues with printing black on your HP Printer. I'll be really glad to help you with this,

Kudos to you for trying out the steps before reaching out to us. Before you could contact our HP phone support for checking the warranty status,

Let's try these steps here:

Please make sure that the printer is connected directly to the wall outlet and not to the surge protector.

Remove all the ink cartridges and then try to perform a hard reset on the printer.

With the printer turned on, disconnect the power cord from the rear of the printer and also unplug the power cord from the wall outlet.

Remove USB cable, if present.

Wait for 2-3 minutes, press and hold the power button on your printer for about 30 seconds to remove any additional charge.

Now plug back the power cable straight to a wall outlet without any surge protector or an extension cord and then plug back the power cord to the printer.

Turn on the printer and wait till warm-up period finishes and the printer is idle.

Now insert the ink cartridges and then try to print a test page and check if it works.

Please follow the steps suggested in the support document for - Fixing Print Quality Problems for the HP Officejet 6500A e-All-in-One Printer Series- Click here
