HP Ink Tak series 410
macOS 10.15 Catalina

My printer is not able to connect to Wifi Network at home.

Printer Midol :  HP Ink Tank Wirelss 410 Series.

Mac OS : Catalina.

While configuring the setup with hp easy start, it is asking for a device name and password to connect.

Im tried with my mac os admin user name and password it failed, and even tried with my wifi network name and password it failed, could some one help with above case.

I'm facing this problem after I have upgraded my mac to latest version i.e., Mac OS Catalina, and also I see an update from HP Driver for the mentioned printer model which could be a reason as well.

@vaishnavthej, Welcome to the HP Support Community!

To connect the printer to the wireless network, let us follow these steps:

Use WPS to connect the printer to your wireless network.

  1. Locate the WPS button on your router, but do not press it yet.

If your router does not support WPS, skip to the next step to connect the printer with the HP Smart app.

  2. Turn on the printer. If the printer is in sleep mode, press the Cancel button on the control panel.

  3. On the printer control panel, press and hold the Wireless button  for at least 3 seconds or until the wireless light starts to flash.

  4. On the router, press and hold the WPS button for 3 to 5 seconds or until it shows that the WPS connection process has started.

NOTE: The printer stops searching for a WPS connection two minutes after the wireless button is pressed. If you were unable to press the WPS button within that timeframe, attempt these steps again.

Once the printer connects to the wireless network, the blue Wireless light on the control panel turns on solid.

Let me know how this goes.

Try these steps to restore the network settings to defaults - Press the Wireless button and the Cancel button from the printer control panel at the same time, and then hold them for three seconds.

Refer to this video link for step by steps instructions to connect the printer using the HP Smart app - How to Set Up a Wireless HP Printer from an iPad or iPhone | HP Printers | HP

Or, you may also try connecting the printer using the Wi-Fi Direct and then convert it to the home network using these steps -

1) Connect the printer using the Wireless Direct. Please refer to page#71 from the Service Guide for steps.

2) Open the browser and in the address or the URL bar type this - 192.168.223.1 to launch the EWS or the printer's page.

3) Go to the network tab > Wireless (802.11) and click on the Wireless Setup Wizard. Once the printer is connected, the Wi-Fi LED on the printer will become solid.

Let me know.
