OfficeJet Pro 6978
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

What does "detect photo" mean in the OfficeJet Pro 6978 scanning software?  When I scanned a picture with my old HP printer software, there would be a dash lined block directly around the picture, plus if I scanned more than one picture each picture would have a dashed line around it, and you could save more than one picture at once this way.  The software with the 6978 puts a block around the whole scanning area and not just the picture.  Is this supposed to happen?  How can I just scan the picture(s)?

Thanks so much!!!

Hi,

Thanks for using the HP Forums.

Here's a resource that might be ale to answer your question:

Scan multiple photos with Auto Crop (HP Scan Extended)

Other useful resources on using the printer :

HP Officejet Pro 6970 series : Scan a 10 pages 2 sided document using the ADF

HP Officejet Pro 6970/8720/8730/8740/7740 Copy document using Collate feature

Hope that helps!
