I have a Photosmart C5580 that has stopped printing. It has been unplugged and plugged back in to see if this works..it doesn't. There are yellow flashing lights on the front and then the message screen goes blue with B00089FE on it and the printer is completely quiet and unresponsive. Help!

My printer is doing the same thing,I even get the blue screen with the code on it. I did get it to work again by opening the lid and watching the cartridges go back and forth. But when ever it sits for a few hours it does the same thing again. Lights flashing saying turn power off, then on again. Which is quite annoying.

I am very discouraged to see that no solution has been offered in this thread that started in May. It is October now. HP, get a clue.
I have exactly the same problem with my Photosmart C5550. I have tried the following in all manner of combinations:
Unplug printer and let it sit for 10 minutes
Disconnect the USB cable to the computer
Delete printer and re-create connection.
Remove all HP drivers from my laptop and reinstall. (Required the better part of a day to complete.)
I get a changing set of error codes on my blue screen of death, including, but not limited to:
I get the white screen that says to turn off the printer and turn it on again with all the flashing lights. The power button does not turn the printer off, it just restarts the start-up sequence and generates a new error code.
I get the white screen that says nothing, causes the lights to flas and does nothing.
I get the startup screen that freezes with the blue screen, hp in the middle and the rainbow at the bottom.
Sometimes it goes to the start screen but before the print job which is queued starts, it goes to the white screen that says to turn it off and then on again. AND it deletes the job from the queue.

Oh my goodness, am I glad you had the patience to write all of that down.
This is EXACTLY what is happening to my C5880, VERBATIM! I just didn't have the time to spell it all out.

Patient? You have to be kidding. I found a $68 Kodak printer on Amazon and bought it. HP would charge us at least $20 to walk us through the diagnostics and repair --- if they knew how to fix it. Buying the new printer saved me the $20 and the hassle, so the cost of the printer is effectively $48. How can you turn that down?

Try this, it worked for me.
It was an answer from a similar problem.
The printer will go off and will power on by itself, else wait for 20 seconds and power on the printer to complete reset.
Press and Hold the “Print Photos” & “Red Eye Removal” buttons. Release both buttons. Display should say “Enter Special Key Combo”
Press and release in sequence “Red Eye Removal”, “Print Photos”, “Red Eye Removal”
Press and release the right arrow button until the display says “System Configuration Menu”. (on C8100 use Touch Screen)
Press and release the “OK” button.
Display should say “Support”. Use the Right arrow Key to look for "Reset Menu".
Press and release the “OK” button.
Press the right arrow key to look for "Semi-Full Reset", press 'OK'
My printer went off, I had to unplug it for 20 secs then repower it up.
Reset the country, language. I was good to go after that..

WOW! I'm sure that somewhere in there we need an eye of newt and a hair of frog! What a complicated system. Still, I have about $150 in ink cartridges for the machine so I'll try it.
My WiFi Kodak is working great, by the way.

I have the same rpoblem with the HP Photosmart eplus B-210A but the code is B069A66C. Screen on printer blue with only this code on it. Printer will not even respond to on/off button. Although I cant complain about HP's service and quick response and cant say as much about the quality of the product since this is the 3rd replacement of this printer in just as many months. I think they should consider a free upgrade maybe? It's a brand new printer and I have yet to succeed in having it work 3 days in a row without a problem.

That's my problem exactly (the C5550 with repeated stops in the boot sequence). Apparently no user has a solution, and HP charges for such support.
Have you found a solution?
I offer the following partial solutions:
1) Hit the on/off switch whenever the bootup stops. Eventually, it gets through its sequence and starts printing.
2) Once it is on and working, DON'T TURN IT OFF! I left it on for six weeks and it continued to work fine, perhaps because the boot-up sequence was never called during that time.
The problem clearly is internal to the printer and may be related to the ink cartridges. Either that or HP put in a "drop dead" date to force purchase of a replacement. Be assured that my replacement will NOT be an HP product. I don't trust HP any more.
