My Officejet Pro X551dw is currently running firmware version BZP1CN1315FR.
I am planning to upgrade to the latest version which is "1829B". I have checked the 1829B firmware upgrade readme document it says prior upgrading to 1829B I have to upgrade to 1409B (Ver 4.1) or later. (REQUIREMENT BEFORE APPLYING THIS UPDATE: Device to be updated to firmware revision 1829BR MUST have been previously updated to revision 1409B (VR4.1) OR LATER prior to applying this firmware update.)
Unfortunately HP support page only has the 1829B available for download. How can I get the older version of firmware in order to upgrade to the latest version?

Hi,
you can try it with this version:
ftp://ftp.hp.com/pub/networking/software/pfirmware/ojprox551dw_1640AR_20161001.rfu
Please note the following article:
https://support.hp.com/nz-en/document/c01711356
Best practice for updaten with an rfu file is to open the ftp path via windows explorer. For example: ftp://printer-IP-address/
Then simply copy the RFU file into the folder "Port" or "Port1".
Good luck and Regards
