Photosmart 6520
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

After Windows 10 Home updates, suddenly PC can't print. Check with a diagnostic tool and told Print spooler is not running. It shows an error message "error "0x8007076b" the endpoint mapper database entry could not be created. Windows 10" when I try to restart the service. Deleted the driver and downloaded the latest one but the reinstallation process failed with an error message "Error 1722: Failed to add port monitor HP Discovery Port Monitor (HP Photosmart 6520 series). I used HP Print and Scan doctor but still can't fix it. Is this printer not compatible with the latest Windows 10 updates?

Try the steps recommended below.

  2. Type services.msc in the box and press enter.

  3. Now locate services called Print Spooler, make sure the services are Started and set to Automatic.

  5. Click Apply and then click ok.

Let us try to disable and enable printer spooler service and clear the spooler.

  1. Press the Windows key + R.

  2. Type services.msc.
