@Kara365 Welcome to HP Community!

I understand that you are facing the printer drivers issue.

Do not worry. I will try to fix the issue.

Please perform the below steps and check.

  1. From the search bar type CMD, right-click on Command Prompt and select Run as Administrator.
  2. Copy the following command, then right-click the Command Prompt dialog and select Paste, then press Enter:
    Spoiler

    icacls "%windir%\System32\DriverStore\FileRepository" /grant %username%:(OI)(CI)F /T

    Note: this will provide your user full permissions to the FileRepository system folder
  3. Copy the following command, then right-click the Command Prompt dialog and select Paste, then press Enter:
    Spoiler

    for /d %G in ("%windir%\System32\DriverStore\FileRepository\hpwia*") do rd /s /q "%~G"

    Note: this will delete all HP's folders from the FileRepository system folder
  4. Uninstall the HP Software.
  5. Now download the latest drivers and reinstall the HP Software.

Thank you for your help. I followed to steps, however, in the end I am still getting "driver unavailable" when I try to use the specified printer.

@Kara365

I understand your concerns.

I would suggest you try the Windows built-in drivers. Follow the steps below:

•    Go to Control Panel - Devices and printers - Click on "Add printer" and follow the on-screen instructions.

•    When the page prompts for the drivers, select "Windows update". The driver list will be updated.

•    Click HP, Hewlett Packard, or Hewlett-Packard in the Manufacturer pane, and then click the name of your printer in the Printers pane.

Refer to this document HP Printers - Installing and Using the Windows Built-in Print Driver for help

Have a nice day!!
