Hi all, I recently installed my HP 250 mobile printer to connect to my home network and print wirelessly. However, it will only work when I connect my PC to the printer's WiFi Direct network, even though the printer itself is always connected to my home network. I have disabled WiFi Direct but that did not help, even though the PC and printer are connected to the same home network.

Any suggestions would be appreciated, thank you.

Welcome to HP support community.

Are you getting any error message?

Meanwhile:

Use HP Print and Scan Doctor to check connectivity

Download HP Print and Scan Doctor.

  1. Run HPPSdr.exe from the download location on your computer.

  2. Once HP Print and Scan Doctor opens, click Start, and then select your printer.

    • If your printer in not in the list, turn it off and on, and then click Retry.

    • If there is a connection problem, follow the instructions in HP Print and Scan Doctor.

  3. If a screen prompts you to turn on printer updates, click Yes.

  4. If a screen prompts you to make your printer the default printer, click Yes.

  5. Try to print.

Assign manual IP address and that should fix the issue.

To identify which IP address is currently assigned to the printer, do the following:

  • From the Home screen, touch (Wireless) and then touch (Setup). 2. Touch Print Reports, and then touch Network configuration Page or Wireless Test Report

Setting a Static IP Address

Once you know your printer’s IP address, entering it is pretty easy. Here’s what you do:

HP Printer Static IP Address

  1. Run your Web browser.
  2. In the Web browser’s address bar, type the IP address of your printer and press Enter. Assuming you entered the right address, the HP printer control panel should appear.
  3. Click the Networking tab.
  4. Under Connections, click Wired.
  5. Under IP Address Configuration, click Manual IP.
  6. Enter the IP address, subnet mask, and default gateway in the appropriate boxes.
  7. Click Apply.

Hi, I am unable to access the EWS, I've tried it on three different browsers and I always get the same error message, "this site can't be reached". I have triple checked the IP address given on the network configuration page, and even used the HP Printer Assistant software to launch the EWS, nothing works. What's the reason?

Restore network defaults and check if you are able to login to EWS:

  • From the printer control panel, touch or swipe down the tab at the top of the screen to open the Dashboard, and then touch ( Setup ).
  • Touch Network Setup.
  • Touch Restore Network Settings. A message appears stating that the network defaults will be restored.
  • Touch Yes.

I hope that helps.

That did not help, I am still unable to access EWS... Also, from the network configuration page I printed, the EWS url address is the same as my network IP. Not sure if that helps anything.
