Common printhead failure message.
Ok.
But I would like to SCAN while I acquire new printheads.

I understand your concern. When the printer is in error state, you can override the error message to use other functionalities on the printer.
If you'd still want to try scanning refer to the document HP Printers - How to Scan (Mac) for help.

If you have already performed the steps from the document Printhead Errors and the issue persists, it could be a hardware failure.
Please reach out to the HP Support in your region regarding the service options for your printer.
