PDF files are blurred:

  • A PDF document printed on my HP Officejet 4500 produces the following "blurred" (characters are "echoed") result. It did not use to be the case up to quite recently. See picture.

ScreenHunter 1125.png

  • PDF printed  on my HP Officejet Pro 8710 are flawless.
  • Word documents printed on both  HP Officejet 4500 & HP Officejet Pro 8710 are fine.

Anyone has a suggestion?

Print the PDF as an image

  1. Open the original PDF file.

  2. Click File, and then select Print from the list.

    The Print window opens.

  3. Click Advanced.

The Advanced Print Setup window opens.

  4. Click the Print As Image checkbox, change any other settings as desired, and then click OK.

Thanks for your assistance.

Printing as an image did not work, unfortunately. Have a look at the result. It probably points to the source of the problem.

Some fonts do not shadow (the top left corner seems to be fine), the rest does.

Perform root level uninstallation to remove all the printer related software's.

  • In Windows, search for and open Programs and Features.
  • Select your HP printer.
  • Select Uninstall.
  • In Windows, search for and open Devices and Printers.
  • In the Devices and Printers window look for your HP Printer. If you see it listed, right-click on it and choose "Delete" or "Remove Device.”
  • Open up the run command with the "Windows Key + R" key combo.
  • Type printui.exe /s and click OK.
  • Click on Drivers tab.
  • Look for HP Printer driver. If you see it click on it and click Remove at the bottom.
  • Select OK.
  • Remove all instances of the same.
  • Select Apply and OK on the Print Server Properties windows.
  • Close Devices and Printers.
  • Restart the PC again.

Download and run printer full feature driver

Click here to download the driver.

I hope that helps.

I cannot fully run printui.exe /s, see pictures enclosed. What should I do to get access to remove the 2 drivers left for the Officejet 4500 printer?

The screenshot that says "The following drivers cannot be deleted..." as they are in use, is after "Select Remove driver and driver package and click OK".

This might require remote access of your computer to fix the issue.

I request you to talk to HP support.

They might have multiple options to help you with this.

  1. Click on this link - https://support.hp.com/us-en/contact-hp?openCLC=true
  2. Select the country.
  3. Enter the serial of your device.
  4. Select the country from the drop-down.
  5. Click on "Show Options".
  6. Fill the web-form. A case number and phone number will now populate for you.

I hope that helps.
