Welcome to HP support community.

Download and run the HP Print and Scan Doctor

Download and run HP Print and Scan Doctor  to automatically diagnose and resolve printer hardware and connection issues.

Stop the scanning processes, and then restart the printer and the computer

  1. Open the Task Manager, Right-click the taskbar near the Windows icon (), and then click Start Task Manager.
  2. Click the Processes tab.

  3. Select Keygrip.exe from the list of processes, and then click End Process.

  4. Select scanapp.exe from the list of processes, and then click End Process.

  5. Press the Power button to turn the printer off, and then press the Power button again to turn the printer on.

  6. Restart the computer.

  7. Try to scan again.
