HP LaserJet Pro M175nw 100
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I have a new WiFi router and I have been unable to connect my printer to the network.  Printer is: HP LaserJet Pro M175nw 100

I have tried the WPS option (via menu and via the blue button) but it always fails [All my other devices happily picked up up the new router and connected usin teh WPS button on the router.]

I have tried installing the HP solution centre s/w and HP Print and scan doctor 5.0. Neither of them will recognise the printer or connect to it (although they both know I have this device.) I have tried conecting wireflessly, and via USB - I am user the USB works because the PC makes a Pinng sound when I conenct/disconnect; but not of the HP software will find the printer, so I can't find any way to reset the printer and connect to the new network SSID.

I have also tried reseting the printer.

Nothing has worked and the printer manual is TOTALLY UNHELPFUL !

I can't find the rigonal installation CD, so I tried all the software options available online (HP Print and Scan Doctor for Windows and HP LaserJet Pro M175nw Full Solution Software and Driver) none of them will connect to the printer.

This is a great location to get assistance! I read your post and see that you are unable to connect the printer to the Wi-Fi router. I would like to help you resolve this issue.

I understand that you are unable to connect the printer with WPS option.

I will help you in connecting the printer to the router with a USB cable.

  • Insert the software CD into the CD drive.
  • Follow the on-screen instructions. When prompted, select the Connect through a wireless network option.
  • Connect the USB cable()  to the printer and the computer when prompted.
  • When the installation is complete, print a Configuration Report to make sure that the printer has an SSID name.
  • Follow these steps to print a configuration report:
  • Load letter or A4 unused, plain white paper into the input tray.
  • On the printer control panel, press the Setup button().
  • Press the Right Arrow button () to select Reports, and then press OK.
  • Press the Right Arrow button () to select Config Report, and then press OK. The printer prints a configuration report.
  • When the Configuration Report prints, disconnect the USB cable () from the printer.
  • Download and install the printer software.

As I mentioned in my post, I can't find the original software installation CD, so I can't get past your first step.

If the software is available online, I'll install it, but i have tried installing everything I could find on the HP support pages for this printer.
