Hello, @shep1000

I see that you were interacting with @sandytechy20. I'd like to jump in with some instructions 😉

Going through your post, I see that you are having issues while scanning and faxing using the HP Officejet printer on windows 10. I’d suggest using the HP Scan and Capture to scan. Go to http://bit.ly/2oAYXby to download and install the HP Scan and capture app on your PC.

HP Scan and Capture is a simple and fun application that captures photos or documents from any HP scanning device or your computer's built-in camera.  These images can be previewed, edited, saved, and shared to other applications. Here are the detailed instructions on how to use the app: http://hp.care/2nZfg1K

Now, you can use the printer control panel to send the fax. You can follow the instructions listed here: http://hp.care/2qGnkpp

Let me know if that helps!

Have a great day 🙂

This is a great location to get assistance! I read your post and see that your HP Officejet 6310 printer is not scanning and unable to send fax. I would like to help you resolve this issue.

However, I will need a few details to provide an accurate solution,

  • When did this issue start?
  • Did you do any hardware or software changes recently?

Meanwhile:

Reset the printer.

  • Remove any items from the scanner glass and automatic document feeder (ADF), then close the scanner lid.
  • With the printer turned on, disconnect the power cord from the printer and from the wall outlet or power strip.
  • Wait at least 60 seconds.
  • Plug the power cord back into a wall outlet.
  • Reconnect the power cord to the printer.
  • Load the original document or photo, then try to copy.

Let me know how it goes.

Cheers.

The computer no longer reconizes the printers ability to fax or scan. The print function works fine. It started when the computer loaded Windows 10 - 1703 build 15063.296.

Thanks for the reply.

I appreciate your time and effort.

How is the printer connected to computer, USB or wireless?

Meanwhile:

  • Try to do a standalone copy and check if that works.
  • Click here and try the troubleshooting steps mentioned on the document.

Let me know if that works.

Cheers.

my printer is USB plugged into a linksys AC2600 gigabit router.

I have two computers.

1. Lenovo running Windows 10 -1703 Build 15063.296- printer will work but will not recognize fax or scan.

I have uninstalled all HP software and reloaded several times.

                  Also reinstalled printer several times.

2. Toshiba running Windows 10-1703 Build 15063.296-printer will work and does recognize fax and scan, but has reverted to the older HP scan software and will not let me edit.

I have done nothing as I am afraid that it will have the same problem.

       Thanks
