HP Envy 4500 All in One

This is a really basic question but I can't seem to find an answer: I have set up my printer successfully. But I don't want to print by emailing documents to the printer--I want to print directly from my computer, because often I want to customize the pages I am printing, only print 1 or 2 pages of a longer document.

Can I print wirelessly? Or do I have to buy a cable to connect my computer (a Mac) and printer, even if the printer is on our wifi network?

Hello,

Thank you for using HP Forums,

As you have already connected your printer to the wireless network, you can directly print from your Mac Computer and there is no need for connecting the printer to the Mac, via USB cable.

If you have not installed the printer drivers, please visit the link given below and download and install the printer driver and follow the onscreen instructions.

http://ftp.hp.com/pub/softlib/software12/HP_Quick_Start/osx/Applications/HP_Easy_Start.app.zip

If you have already installed the printer drivers or if there are no drivers available for your printer, please follow the instructions below:

1. On your Mac, please click on the Apple icon in the Top Lef thand corner of the screen and then click on System Preferences. This will open the System preferences window.

2. In the System Preferences window, please click on Printers and Scanners and this will open the Printers and Scanners Window.

3. In the Printers and scanners window, please click on the + (Add) Sign and you will see a window, with the list of printer or printers. Please select your printer in the list and click on Add and this will add the printer on your computer and you should be able to print.

When you click on the +Sign and if you do not see the printer, please click on the IP tab and in the address, please enter the IP address of the printer and then click on the dropdown next to protocol and select "HP Jet Direct Socket" and then click on Add and this will add the printer on your computer and you should be able to print.
