There are a few settings that would be incompatible with photo paper:
- Duplex printing. Duplex printing is not supported with Photo paper.
- Print in Grayscale: Black ink Only. The pigmented black ink is not compatible with photo paper.
- Econofast. Fast Draft or Econofast print modes may preclude selecting Photo paper. (At a dollar a sheet, the relatively poor print quality of Econofast or Fast Draft mode is not a good fit.)
