Last Apple update macOS Catalina does not support the printer/scanner HP Officejet Pro 8610. The function 'scan to computer' is corrupt.

Scan to Computer is not fully functional in macOS Catalina. HP is working with Apple to get HP Easy Scan and Scan to computer back to full functionality as quickly as possible.
In the interim you can use Image Capture to retrieve scans from the OfficeJet Pro. You just will not be able to initiate the scan from the control panel just yet.

Scan to Computer is not fully functional in macOS Catalina. HP is working with Apple to get HP Easy Scan and Scan to computer back to full functionality as quickly as possible.
In the interim you can use Image Capture to retrieve scans from the OfficeJet Pro. You just will not be able to initiate the scan from the control panel just yet.

Let us try uninstalling the HP Software and reinstalling the updated version of the driver that was released for Mac OS 15. Refer to the document HP Printers - Uninstalling HP Software (Mac) for help.
Now, download and install the new software using HP Easy Start from here.
Also, try using the HP Smart App to scan. Refer to the document HP Printers - Using the HP Smart App (Mac) for help.
