Greetings @donrelli,

Welcome to HP Forums and Thanks for the post.

I understand that you are facing an issue with your printer printing black pages after replacing the cartridges.

Not to worry, I will be glad to help.

Kudos to you for trying to troubleshoot the issue on your own.

Are you using genuine HP ink?

Are you able to make a copy on the printer?

How is the printer connected to your computer? USB or wireless.

Are the ink levels displayed on your printer?

Please try to make a copy on the printer and check if the printer makes a copy.

Copy function of a printer is independent of the software on the computer.

If you are unable to make a copy, please do hard reset (disconnect the power cable of the printer, wait for a minute and connect the power cord directly to a wall outlet and turn the printer ON.)

If the printer still does not make a copy after a hard reset. Reseat the cartridges and try to make a copy again. Click here

If the issue persists, please contact our phone support for the service or upgrade options for the printer.

Also, refer to this HP Article for other troubleshooting steps.

Keep me posted.

Hi Chimeny_83

I'm using geniune HP ink cartridges.

Unalbe to make a copy on the printer.

Printer connected is connected wirless to computer.

Ink levels are reading full (new cartriges)

Followed your instructions, turned off the lap top, plugged the printer and waited several minutes.

Still unable to make a copy.  Turned off the lap top, removed the cartridges, unplugged the lap top and waited serveral minutes.  Plugged into the outlet, turned on the printer, still unable to make a copy.  Tried to print a small Excel file and received a blank page.

Will give support a call tomorrow.

Thanks for your assistance

I didn't call HP Solutions.  I took the printer to Staples where I purchased the printer.  The employee swapped out the ink cartridges and the printer is printing okay.  Turned out to be a defective ink cartridge.  Thanks for your help.

Thanks for the reply and glad to hear that the printer is printing fine after the cartridges were replaced. If the cartridges are under warranty, you can contact our phone support to have them replaced.

Keep me posted.
