HP OfficeJet 250 Mobile
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

My HP OfficeJet 250 Mobile printer is set up on my home wifi network.

When I try to print to it from my Windows 10 desktop, nothing prints. The Windows print queue (Settings->Devices->HP OfficeJet 250 Mobile Series PCL-3 (Network)->Open Queue) shows the printer as being Offline even though it is turned on.

Running the HP Print and Scan Doctor 5.0 (and I have run it >10 times by now) will sometimes work ... a page will print on the Test Print phase, and everything will work fine ... till the printer falls asleep and/or I reboot my desktop. Then everything goes back to as before - printer shows up as Offline in the queue and nothing prints.... Till I run the HP Print and Scan Doctor 5.0 a few times till magically things appear to get fixed.

Trust me - I have been through this many times over the last couple of months without finding a consistent pattern to what fixes the problem - I do know what starts it ... any time the printer falls asleep, the problem reappears even if things were working fine before.

This is my first and likely my last HP printer purchase ... unless I hear back from HP support with a solution or a replacement for my printer. Note that I am a fairly sophisticated and heavy computer user (a technology professional for > 2 decades) - and my strong recommendation to the many people who ask me for advice will also be to avoide HP printers going forward.

Having said all of that, I must also mention that I recently bought HP laptop (Spectre X1) for the first time and have been happy with it.

Hi! @alamtahsin, Thanks for stopping by HP forums!

I understand you have issues printing using wireless direct on your printer.

Don't worry I'd love to help you out.

Did you make any changes to your printer?

It looks to be a driver issue, uninstall the printer driver from root level on your PC and reinstall the printer drivers and check if it helps.

1. Navigate to Start >Type Devices and Printers in the Search > Select it from the results

2. Highlight your printer object and Right Click

3. Choose Remove Device

4. Highlight something else from the list

5. Click the Print Server Properties button from the toolbar

6. Select the Drivers Tab

7. Highlight the appropriate print driver

8. Click Remove

9. Check the Remove Driver and Driver Package option when prompted

10. Click OK

Please update the printer drivers using this link.

Let me know how it goes!

Take Care! 🙂
