hp office jet pro 8600. my fibre suplier BT supplied me with a mrouter that is no switchable to 2.4ghz band because of the halo product needs permanent 5ghz. i tried splitting a rj45 feed but it does not work if both lines or on. i thought about a wifi dongle  but there is no power supply usb port on the printer only the initia setup  B usb input fat square one. has anyone successfully attatched a wifi dongle to the 8600? or is there a electronic wifi 5 ghz chip that can be added to make it perform wirelessly.

There is no option to upgrade the printer to 5GHz wireless, if you want to continue using that printer you wan connect it with LAN cable to the router. All functions of the printer will work, except wireless.

thankyou for your reply, i tried splitting my rj45 cable but if the printer and the pc were trying to share the network it did not succeed. i looked at a wifi bridge solution but these all required a usb poer supply which was complicated as no usb port on the 8600 printer. i managed to use a bt halo complete wifi disc likw a router and now i have a rj45 network connection  for my printer.
