Hi @Barry925,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

When your HP DeskJet Ink Advantage 3830 printer shows as offline, there are various steps you can follow to bring it back online.

Check Printer and Network Connections:

  • Ensure that the printer is turned on and connected to the same network as your computer. If using a USB connection, confirm that the cable is properly connected.
  • Check the network icon on the printer's display to ensure it's properly connected to your Wi-Fi.

Set Printer to Online:

  • On your computer, go to the "Devices and Printers" settings.
  • Locate your HP DeskJet Ink Advantage 3830 from the list, right-click it, and select "See what's printing."
  • In the new window, click on the "Printer" menu and ensure that "Use Printer Offline" is not checked.

Restart Devices:

  • Turn off your printer, computer, and router, then wait a few seconds before turning them back on.
  • This can help refresh your network connections.

Update or Reinstall Printer Driver:

  • Visit the HP support website to download and install the latest driver for your DeskJet Ink Advantage 3830. An outdated driver might cause connectivity issues.

Check for Configuration Issues:

  • Run the HP Print and Scan Doctor tool for Windows operating systems to diagnose and automatically fix problems with your printer.

Manual IP Address Setting:

  • On the printer’s control panel, print a Network Configuration Page.
  • Note the IP address and enter it into your computer browser to access the Embedded Web Server (EWS).
  • Confirm the settings and try setting a manual IP address if necessary.

Disable SNMP:

  • In the "Devices and Printers" settings, right-click your printer and go to "Printer Properties."
  • Select the "Ports" tab, choose your network connection, and click "Configure Port."
  • Uncheck "SNMP Status Enabled" and click OK.

These steps should help resolve offline issues with your HP DeskJet Ink Advantage 3830.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
