Common problems for Connectivity Issues
We would like to share some of the most frequently asked questions about Printer Wi-Fi, Connectivity Issues and Offline Status. Check out this link: HP printer is offline or unavailable.
HP Recommended

HP 9015e OfficeJet Pro had been printing fine until last few days.  Error message states cannot print.  HP Smart shows printer is asleep or printer is ready if restarting.  I have followed the HP troubleshoot instructions including resetting print spooler.  Printer prints Status reports, WIFI Direct directions etc perfectly. Printer touch screen shows connected to WIFI router, and computer show connected to printer as well.  It shows ink levels. I have been paying for "Instant INK" for the past couple years. I Purchased in printer in 2023.

Wife tried the HP "online service" site and was told fby a company called WINAPP that for $260 they would fix. Sounded scammy to us so we did not continue. Is this HP printer just junk now?

ANY HELP is appreciated.

Hi  @WickTed,

Welcome to the HP Support Community!

Thanks for reaching out!

I  understand how  it must feel when your printer suddenly stops cooperating, especially since you’ve been relying on it for a while and even subscribed to Instant Ink. The fact that it prints status reports and shows ink levels means the hardware is fine. The issue is most likely a communication or driver-related glitch between the printer and your computer.

Could you please confirm the exact operating system you’re using (Windows 10, Windows 11, macOS, etc.)?

In the meantime, here are a few steps  things you can try:

  1. Update printer driver: Even if it was working before, a recent OS update may have caused a mismatch. Reinstalling the latest driver from HP’s support website https://support.hp.com/  often resolves this.
  2. Check default printer setting: Make sure the 9015e is set as the default printer in your system settings. Sometimes Windows or macOS silently switches to “Print to PDF” or another device.
  3. Disable IPv6 on printer: Some users report that disabling IPv6 in the printer’s network settings stabilizes communication.
  4. Try USB connection: If Wi-Fi is flaky, temporarily connect the printer via USB to confirm whether the issue is network-related.
  5. Remove and re-add printer: Delete the printer from your computer’s settings, restart, and then add it back fresh. This clears out corrupted spooler or driver entries.

I hope this helps.
